Booking and pre trip information from Shivani was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. All transport and transfers was efficient, safe and reliable. Hotels were excellent, comfortable and in good locations. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. The Hotel Parkside in Chitwan was exceptional. The guide in Kathmandu was very good and the tour was very interesting. The activities and the guides in Chitwan was brilliant, this was our favourite part of the trip.
This was our fourth trip to Nepal and we were very pleased with socialtours.

 Visiting Nepal had been a dream of mine. You all not only made my dream come true - you exceeded all of my expectations. It wasn't that every day was better than the last. You planned a trip where every day was just AS AMAZING as the day before. The office staff at socialtours, all of our guides (Sharad , Nhono, Tilak) our driver (Ram) our porter (Pasang) were FANTASTIC. We met and became friends with many of you that we know will last a lifetime.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your planning and hard work. My wish for everyone is that they can have one experience in their life that is as WONDERFUL for them as Nepal was for us. Namaste. |

Responsible Peek into Nepal

 I travelled with Ansvarlig Turisme/ Ethical Travel Portal to The Gambia in 2008. Based on that trip my expectation for this trip to Nepal was enormous. Would this trip and experiences be at the same level as I had in The Gambia almost two years back??
We reached Kathmandu airport after twenty hours journey. Here representatives from socialtours were waiting for us with a warm welcome. After arrival, transfer to the hotel and information about the trip and responsible tourism program we enjoyed our welcome dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant. The next day we spent time at socialtours office and learned about their work and efforts in responsible tourism. Later our Heritage Trail started to the many of the UNESCO heritage sites in Kathmandu Valley. The culture difference from Europe is a paradise for a photographer!

 We had a fantastic experience travelling with socialtours. They showed us the real Nepal in a responsible way. During our 11 days trip we experienced a lot from culture heritage trail in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Patan, trekking the Chepang trail, exploring Chitwan National Park, homstay, visiting villages and local people, learning from them about their daily life and visiting responsible tourism projects... socialtours handled our trip in a very professional and friendly way; from organising our trip before arrival, during our stay and made sure we had arrived safely back home again. Working in the field of responsible tourism it is in particular good to see the principles in action. I highly recommend socialtours for a responsible travel in Nepal.

Our group of 22 Californians presented Social Tours with several unique requests. They accomodated us on every one with professionalism and generosity. Several members of socialtours, not only prepared every facet of our Kathmandu Valley tour and Tamang Heritage trek, but also took personal care in welcoming us, leading us and helping us. They even allowed time for reflections with all of our group leaders and exposed us to the real Nepal in a way that did not intrude on the villages or the environment. I hope to travel with socialtours again. |
