GREEN CIRCUIT - general information / FAQ's

greencircuitlogo_orangeThis is a relatively new initiative and there could be a lot of questions from all people - media, industry professional and of course clients wanting to take the trips. You can use the quick contact form on the right column to ask these questions, make booking enquiries, suggestions, or generally to contact us.

The following however is a list of questions we anticipated will be frequently asked! We thought it might be convenient to put it out here to read. As the questions come in, we will update this list of course.

Celebrity Launch for Green Circuit in London!

greencircuitGreen Circuit, an idea mooted by socialtours - Nepal is now a partnership between 5 responsible tourism operators in the India Sub continent. Social Tours, Grass Routes, Ecosphere, The Blue Yonder and Help Tourism are coming together to provide a unique network of responsible holidays in the subcontinent.

Green circuit proves the fact that tourism industry can work together and complement each other, rather than competing with each other other. Green circuit features various destinations covering Nepal, Eastern and Western Himalayas, West Bengal and North Eastern India and South India.

We welcome you to join us at the official launch of Green Circuit at World Travel Market - London. Fiona Jeffery - Chairman of WTM and Just a Drop, will launch the initiative on the World Responsible Tourism day on 11th November 2009 at the stand of International Centre for Responsible Tourism - India (AS4600 / 03)

Are these the only products available?

No. All the operators involved here have dozens of products, each one with its own unique characteristics. All of these operators also offer customised travel. The products here are only showcasing, with one excellent example each, what you might expect from these operators.

You are more than welcome to communicate your interests, browse the individual websites, or ask us for options, and decide on a particular product.

We will me more than happy to develop your very own Green Circuit!

OK, I am interested in booking, but how does it really work?

1. You study the whole circuit. Choose where you would like to come in, which international airport, or train station.

2. Write to us, we can help you with information on airports, best options to arrive at a particular location, or train information (timetables, stations, tickets etc.)

3. Book (this is preceeded by lots of communication to help zero in on exactly what would fit your interests, budget, time-frame etc)

4. Start the trip, you can end it anywhere. It is meant to be a hop in hop out circuit!

5. You might even want to come back next year and continue on the trip!

6. Remember, communicate with us, we are there to help you. There are absolutely no obligations till you finally make that booking!

Will other trips/operators also be included?

Yes! The overall aim is for an initiative such as this to be inclusive and open-source... we do not even mind if someone emulates us, in fact, we encourage it!

However, as this has only started, we need to analyse all the different logistic issues, and when it is still a small compact group, it is easy to monitor and modify, while still providing an excellent service to our clients.

If you do know of an initiative, product or company who should be included, do write to us. Use that form!

Why is it called a GREEN circuit?

Actually, to be absolutely frank, the name comes from a byproduct of the initiative. We are promoting the most responsible trips and operators, so the overall negative effects of tourism should be minimal, plus we are only using ground transport, in many cases, local transport, to reduce emmissions. All companies are also following certain codes of ethics in their operations.

We also want travellers to have the option of using train travel while in the sub-continent, which is "greener" in many ways.

Because of all this, it started off as the Green Circuit and the name stuck.

The primary objective however, of this circuit, is to offer travellers, some of the best products in the sub-continent, which are, apart from being excellent products, also responsible. We aim to increase the visibility of these products through joint marketing, handholding etc.

How does one book (a) trip(s)?

The companies committed in this initiative work very closely with each other. When you make an enquiry, in this particular website, using the quick contact form on the right, an operator from our company will deal with you, providing you a one contact access to the entire circuit, no matter which particular trip you would like to start with.

Thereafter, once we go into details, we might either hand you over to the particular operator, or carry on with the booking process. All this does not come at any extra costs to you. We are in a joint marketing service providing arrangement, and our main objective is to work together, and link up with each other and promote each others products!

You are also welcome to visit the individual websites and deal with the companies direct!

Once you book the trips, we will support you with the linking up, including bus tickets, train tickets etc. in case you need that help!
